Irwindale Speedway "King of the Wing" - For the first time since its opening in 1999, the Irwindale Event Center hosted the "King of the Wing" Sprint Car Challenge, and these 750-900 horsepower - 1600 pound monsters did not disappoint. The track record was shattered in the first qualifying session by JoJo Hilbert with a 13.971. Hilbert went on to win the main event after some confusion in scoring when the caution laps were counted in error. Race officials ultimately call the cars back on the track to rerun the final 12 laps.

Harvick Wins NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship! It took 13 seasons and a ton of scrutiny for Kevin Harvick to finally win the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship. Thrust into the spotlight after the sudden death of NASCAR legend Dale Ernhardt, Harvick, a seemingly unknown, fought through the contriversay to finally win. Ironically, his 2013 split from Richard Childress Racing led to new found success.

NASCAR Texas-Style - Tempers flared after the race at Texas Motor Speedway. Penske driver, Brad Keselowski, has made a habit of finding the hole on the restart this season, landing him in victory lane. On the restart with three laps remaining, Keselowski once again found an opening, which caught Jeff Gordon by surprise (or his spotter). Gordon cut a tire, spun, and ended up finishing 29th. The real excitement happened after the race! Gordon rush Keselowski. causing a WWF type fight leaving both drivers with a fat lip. Next week, Phoenix, and nothing is settled for the final four!

Irwindale Speedway - It was a beautiful evening with black clouds hovering over the mountains on this first weekend of fall, as the Irwindale Event Center honored the "Wounded Warrior Project" with a star-studded celebrity race. In the end, Mark Paul Gosselaar, of "Saved by the Bell" and NYPD Blues" fame was able to edge out Erik Valdez (Graceland) for the victory. Corbin Blue (Dancing with the Stars) rounded out the podium finish.

NASCAR - Chicagoland Speedway - So the NASCAR Chase for the Cup is underway and series points leader, Brad Keseloweski driving the #2 Miller Lite Penske Racing Ford Fusion wasted no to jumping into the lead with a win at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet Illinois. The path to his fifth win of the season was rocky, as a disappointing 25th qualifying position left him deep in the back of the field. Keselowski and Jeff Gordon were the fast cars in the final practice session on Sunday morning, and Keselowski wasted no time charging to the lead during the race. A loose right tire  during a caution forced him to return to the pits, sending him back in the field once again. But, this was Keselowski's day, as he made the pass of the season between Kevin Harvick and rookie Kyle Larson, threading the needle and never looking back. "I just saw a hole and I went for it," he said. "I didn't know if my car would stick or not, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't try it."
